The crew "macro" management buttons have been a known cause of CTD's for some users. Myself included.
Several threads about it around game release time. I dont know wether or not it was put into the offical game bug thread.
Its espically aggrivating because it is not consistant eg it may happen on the 3rd button push or the 30th. But it usually happens when you least expect it and have no saves
On another note the game has been known to crash when the user goes on a click fest
