OK well Torp advoidance can be a bit of an artform. I would recommend you download the BlueBook training manual from Subguru.com as it has a excellent chapter about torp advoidance.

However, basically you want to get out of the torps sensor cone. The general idea is to put your sub where the torp cant see it. CMs can help confuse the torp (or strangely in DW actually explode the torp) long enough for you to get outside I tend to drop a spread of one active on passive and head of at a +/-. 45 degree heading from the torps course at maximun speed that is below cavitation speed. Also if there is a thermal layer, put it between the torp and you.

Dont forget tho, sometimes that torp will find you regardless so you need a bit of luck.
