I routinely take a undamaged boat down to 240M and hope I am below the thermal layer. If I am, the pings change or disappear and I know they will lose me so I change course and move away slowly till they give up and leave. If the ping has not changed tone, I creep deeper to about 265M. If the ping is the same, and there are 3 or more escorts up there, I'm in deep do-do. It is going to take alot of luck to get out alive and in one piece.
