Thought
Master and Commander was not too bad a flick while keeping to the period quite nicely in the details. It did not do too much violence to the book upon which it was based.
As for
Mutiny on the Bounty, we have the 1935 version with Charles Laughton and Clark Gable, the horribly bad (IMHO) Brando film of 1962 and
The Bounty with Anthony Hopkins and Mel Gibson.
Some other versions of the story out there as well.
