)
I also love those tiny Type II's, the boat has survived long after I've admitted defeat and wait impatiantly for death to come. It's survived shell hits to the hull/tower, over 2 (real) hours of DC attacks, an elite group of 4 DDs and 2 Catalinas all hunting me and much more.
Most of the time they're too small to even be spotted, recently I was 600m behind a C2 in the middle of the day and it had no clue
I have to agree it seems strange that the VII's have room for 3-9 more crew than you will ever have bunks for, and the IIs have more bunks than you will ever need
