I decided to do something about the noisy, dirty map in the game. I prefer sharp clear images and the map was far from that. I thought it might be easy to fix but I was wrong. Blanking the files caused some strange results since both the noise and dirt files work together to control the brightness of the map. All white files made the map way too bright. So by trial and error I found a transparency level for the noise file that did not alter the brightness of the map. It will work with any map palette since it does not alter any colors.
There are three versions of the mod, so you can choose one or both of the effects to remove. The mod can be installed at any time.
