Seeing as pretty much every MMO has mounts and they talk about making a "next generation" MMO, I'm quite sure they are ridable.
As for the graphics, some scenes look nice in the trailer, others not so. The exterior scenes have, like you said, WOW to them and I really hope they refine that to a more washed out style. Last thing WH40k needs is bright, vivid colors.
