Correct. JSGME only ever connects to the internet when the user presses the
Updates button, and then, all it does is query a file that sits on my server that holds the details of the latest available version. A quick internal calculation later, and if there is a newer version available, the user gets asked if they want to d/l it (again, their choice). Nothing more, nothing less.
IMHO there's common sense...and there's paranoia. One is a good thing, the other...
