Familiar enough verse? Depending on context, the word simply means nation or non-Jew. Only context would determine if the intention was derogatory. That was not my intent. Who says Yiddish humor can't backfire!

Seeing your post made me remember something about a language that the old spanish-jews used to talk. I think it is called "Sefarda", "Sefardi" or "Sefardita". In school we were told that this language may seem very strange because it was ancient-spanish. Have you ever seen that or do you talk that? |
Sounds like Ladino.
But don't ask me to mutter a few words of it. Totally unknown to me.
