On a related note:
Some of you might know that one already. But I wanted to post it anyway.
This scenario is always coming back into my head when I hear people here complaining about the reunification. Yes, there are lots of people doing so. Mostly because of the way it was done in economical terms, e.g. 1:1 currency exchange rate etc.
But I always think, however poorly it might have been dealt with, we can still thank the heavens that the Cold War ended as it did. Seeing how mankind usually deals with things, we were a lucky bunch indeed.
BTW, this movie has a few weaknesses. For example, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense that there are people there giving interviews in a cozy documentary after the fact, as if nothing happened. Then again, it would have been hard to tell the story with nobody left telling it. Still, it might have possibly been a bit more plausible if it was done like 100 years (or 1000+) after. As it is done, it seems like it happened only last year or so.
