Ernst Rohm, leader of the SA (a.k.a. stormtroopers and brownshirts) and many other SA officers and men were notoriously homosexual. It really wasn't until after the Night of the Long Knives, and because of Himmler's influence, that the Nazis adopted an anti-gay policy.
