Sadly that did not work  It crashes without any compression now, so whatever you were going to suggest Vendor, it probably is not the right area. Just accessing the navmap seems to do it now. I have taken it off compatibility mode and am going to go right back to an earlier save and see if that might get round it - but I am not hopeful.
