Hello, Everyone.

I've returned to Silent Hunter after a year of exploring other things - mainly in the Real World. - After resisting for a while, mainly over the DRM issue, I decided to buy SH5. I duly installed it and immediately went to set up the indispensable JSGME.

When I ran the game, I saw none of the mods I'd loaded. It was only after a couple of hours of hair-tearing and bad language that I realised what I'd done wrong.

Having used JSGME in SH3 and SH4 I'd automatically installed it to the SH5 folder in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter V - the one which contains the Launcher.

For a while I was unaware that SH5 creates not only the folder C:\program Files\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5 BUT ALSO creates a new UBISOFT folder in the root C: directory ( C:\Ubisoft ) - the same directory which contains C:\Program Files.

I installed JSGME in that folder and, lo and behold, the mods I installed appeared in-game.

I'm either getting old, or stupid - or both, but those of us who are used to the "old" file structure for Silent Hunter need to be a little bit aware.

By the way. It's good to see that so many of the Subsim "old hands" are still around, plus there are so many hugely-talented newer people here. It's good to be back - a bit like coming home, really.
