Exactly where I wanted it to be, thanks... Both 'Darkie' and 'Whitey' are terms of derision depending which side you stand on; and in referring to
myself as such... see what I did there?
I didn't think I needed to specifically include the irish, welsh or the scots, or any regional separation as I considered them implicit in my train of thought regarding '
ethnic groups and nationalised britons'.
After all, 'ethnicity' is not the preserve of the coloured individual now, is it?
I understand perfectly, the use of such words and their meanings, but as I'm not bound by any belief of segregation or superiority towards anyone to whom such labels may, or may not apply, I'm completely comfortable in my definition and use of the language to whatever effect I deem necessary - the perception of offence has more to do with other peoples conception of what is or is not bordering on racism. As you sort of prove in your own words.
Racism is about how you behave towards people, not the language you speak. That's my belief anyways. Be it so that there's those who'd take issue with that, and that's fine too. I'll not go overly out of my way to explain or justify myself.
Most of the time I fail to see the problem of race, so it sometimes catches me unawares when people experience some big hoohah over colour.
For the most part the issue or race or colour is not something that means anything to me.
Apart from that, I don't drink lager, german or otherwise, but life would be much diminished without a decent curry.
