I encounterd (first time ever!) a carrier north from England isles and 6 destroyers. I drew a rough picture from the situation:

As you can see the distance between me and carrier is approx. 9 kilometers and rising. U-53, the unlucky one, and her crew desperately needs the scalp of the carrier. So, I'm asking from you more experienced kaleun's advices to intercept and sink the carrier. It's November and the dark comes early. At the moment the clock is around 2pm and it's getting darker but it's still a long way to pitch black. How can I get ahead of the carrier? No fog and sea is quite rough. Should I take distance to it and run at the surface to get ahead of it? How close and how fast can I move to remain unnoticed?
