Yeah, you can't take the compass as a voting guide, that's for sure. I for one am really very disillusioned with the political left practically everywhere. It's been ruined by political correctness and distracted from socioeconomic goals by petty concerns about lifestyle choices and cultural cliches. Or some weird pro-Soviet/pro-hippie nostalgia. Most of the voting base is either senile idealists, socially sheltered academics, or young rebels-without-a-cause. So even with my own orientation, I'll be the first to say that almost all the worlds far-left political parties and organizations are indeed silly jokes.
