Yes, same thing here a few weeks ago. type IX career, saved at sea for safety (despite near having constant CTDs when saving this career mid ocean upon coming back to it), loaded back up later and complete career had disappeared. Strangely my VII career, saved under a different name was unaffected. No idea what happened.
Seems odd that one career can be so bugged (IX), yet the other (VII) never has any problems.
