Snestorm, I think the joke is that the whale should've gone to Specsavers for glasses, because he mistook a u-boat for another whale and was trying to mate with it.

Also:

to the ad, very clever. Was this ad made for English-speaking audiences, and with German dialogue and subtitles to underscore the "Das Boot" parody aspect even further? Because that's awesome.

Also: I was so relieved this turned out to NOT be a newsblurb saying that someone is remaking "Das Boot," because NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!11!
