Dont go through the Irish Sea mate,go around the other side,west of Ireland,try and keep to where the sea is at its deepest a 100 or so km from land.Be mindful of air patrols too.It would then be wise to go around the north tip of Lerwick,but I usually take a short cut through the area between the Shetlands and the NE tip of Scotland,but that all depends on the year,later in the war it would be better to take a WIDE berth around Lerwick!,maybe even going around the Faroes instead.
If you're lucky you might run into some foul weather too up there
