this kid is in high school wrestling and he is not "limber" or maneuverable enough according to his coach.

thus he was asked to take a gymnastics class to help him develop these attributes (like any serious athlete would do)

the problem is that he associates "gymnastics" with being "gay" and "faggoty"

he perceives this as a threat to his masculinity, and he is worried that it will detract from his "toughness" as a wrestler.

furthermore, he makes numerous - and i do mean numerous references to "this is gay" - "he's a fag" - "you are gay" and displays exaggerated annoyance with physical contact in the setting he finds himself in... he is attempting to wall off himself from everyone in the room.

though it would be extreme of me to refer to him as a closet case... he may be.

more likely though, he is extremely immature and finds himself in a threatening situation with which he does not understand how to cope, thus his response is the only response he really DOES understand which is outburst of physical and verbal aggression.

If he had chilled the "F" out for 10 minutes and tried to make the best of the situation, he might have learned something about himself and something that might have made him a better wrestler.

from a coach's or trainer's standpoint his behavior would have been incredibly annoying and frustrating.

if i were the lady, i would have long ago told him to GTFO of my gymnasium.

any student of any subject matter who takes his lessons seriously enough WOULD follow the advice of his trainer. I dont think it is too unreasonable to ask a wrestler to limber up with a few gymnastics lessons.

If i asked one of my student pilots to get comfortable in a quiet place and read the large print picture version of "how to train your dragon" because i thought for some reason it might help them become a better pilot - by god they had ought to find a quiet place for 15 minutes and digest every syllable without bitching about it.

this kid cant even follow the advice of his own coach and trainer.

complaining is one thing.

behaving like a toddler is a whole other issue.
