If we just pull out, what would be next. I think the Taleban would retake the country in a heartbeat and after that Al Qaida (or however they are spelled in English
) will rebuild it's bases there (in case they need to that is, I've heard the new ones in Pakistan are quiet cosy...) .
It would be a huge propaganda victory for the islamists "Hey, look, we've defeated Nato!". That would surely come in handy for them for their recruit campaigns.
On a side note, I think we should forget about making Afghanistan a democracy like in western countries. It isn't going to work.
