It could have Richard O'Kane as its main character. It could start in private ryan fasion with an old man aboard a muesum sub, with a "Grandpa, didn't you used to be on one of these?"... screen fades to flashback.... aboard the USS wahoo's second war patrol depicting his frustration with the current captain. Then the next patrol with Mush mouth morton proclaiming, they're all expendable. Then onto the reconitering of wewak harbor, and wahoo's other epic patrols. Then it could follow O'kane as he is transferred of wahoo to take command of the Tang. It could then show the emotional reactions at the news that the wahoo was lost, the Sea trials of the tang and the deliberate 620 foot deep dive during those trials.

Then finally showing Tangs exploits, right on upto the loss of the tang, and O'kanes eventual repatriation from POW status. We could then end this 4 part mini series in true "Saving private ryan" fashion with an old man with a sub combat pin looking tearfully at the Silent service monument at pearl harbor with his grandson.
