This is the best possible advice ,Always backup before you do anything ,even if its just creating a restore point before installing new drivers for something - you may never have to do it But the one time you dont do it will be the one time you really should have (I know this is all closing the door after the horse has bolted type of advice ,but hey that's what the interwebs is for
).
