Just curious.... but in these ship data files, are there any references to a variable or characteristic called metacenter or metacentric height?

In RL, metacentric height (the distance between the metacenter - the intersection of a vertical line drawn through a vessel's displaced center of buoyancy (such as when heeled) - and the center of gravity) is the characteristic that defines a vessel's stability. Transverse (the actual term the OP was looking for I think) metacentric height determines lateral or roll stability, while longitudinal metacentric height determines pitch (fore and aft motion) stability.

The term "athwartship", BTW, typically refers to the placement or orientation of an object in, on, or around a vessel.
