Very interesting thread
I have been playing SH3/GWX for many times, until SH5 release date. Never played SH4 with ATO mods - there is no atmosphere at all. Tried SH5 and decided to back to GWX. SH5 is better than SH3/GWX only in one aspect - graphic. It would be fantastic to merge SH5 graphic with GWX

Playing GWX I have some "must have" mods. I've tried many GUI's for SH3, but decided to use hsGUI v3.1 for GWX, because it's a good compromise of many new functions and simplicity of servicing. Rest of mods give SH3/GWX better look - RBs_SH4_Effects_GWX_30_71, Lifeboats&Debris_v4, Waterstream+Exhaust Combi v2.3 for GWX3 and Torpedo Damage Final ver2.0. I've tested three environmental combi packs for GWX: OLCE (unfortunately the last version merged with GUI), M.E.P. v3 and SH5 Water for GWX 3.0 v0.9. Now I play using SH5 Water.
