Nice kill!

Recently I was submerged in the northern channel between England and Ireland when sonar picked up an incoming convoy. When it came close, I raised to periscope depth and: - dense fog, nothing at all to see! Also, it was late December and at 9 a.m. the sun was really low on the horizon, with beautyful rays of light going through the mist.

So I decided to surface and started zig-zagging through the convoy while searching for tankers to fulfill my mission. It was really a thrill to navigate between the columms of ships, never knowing when the next shadow would appear out of the reddish wall around me.
After a while i found a large tanker, set up a rough manual solution (unfortunately the game won´t let you lock onto a target in the mist) and put a torpedo into her side. After the fish went off, things even got more interesting as the ships started zig-zagging and looking for me with searchlights, and the destroyers coming in to look for me. Now I had to look for ships coming from practically any direction, with only seconds to react before a collision would kill me.
Unfortunately, I lost the tanker (which did not sink) and could not find it any more. So I decidet to go for whatever target I could get in front of my boat. Doing that, I got a little bit too adventureous and finally ended up in a collision with a freighter that suddenly appeared out of nowhere right in front of me.

I must admit that this situation was probably the most impressive and thrilling I experienced in SH 5 so far. Seeing ships pass by like ghosts in the mist or seeing their silhuettes against the misty sun was really fascinating.

There is a lot of beauty in this game!
