There's always people who dont like certain genre or misunderstand what the genre is doing.
Take Antichrist for example, it's a mix of psychological stuff and shock gore, I loved it not because of the gore (tho, I must admit I'm a sucker for splatter flicks
) but because I though it was brilliant in many many ways. I recommended it to my cousin who then called me a nutjob after watching it, obviously they only saw the gore in it (ok, well maybe hitting a guy to the privates and then wanking it off so the blood squirts all over is kinda hard to miss
) and missed the other stuff.
