this is true.
However, I have tried 5 or 6 different email systems, Yahoo, aol, hotmail, gmail etc etc
I have found Gmail to have about the best spam filter that there is.
but even the best spam filter wont catch it all... and may even still send some legitimate messages to the spam bin.
I have found that probably the best way to approach spam is to create a bogus e mail address that you never intend to check or monitor which is used solely for online purchasing / signing up for stuff online etc.
