My brother-in-law's been drumming since his teens at least, in the mid to late 60s. He was a huge Beach Boys and surf rock fan back in the day... he gets out of it for a while, but then somebody will get him back into playing. Lately he and my sister have been attending services at the Methodist church near their house, and they have a band that plays there. The regular drummer couldn't make it every week so they asked my BIL if he'd be available once a month and he agreed.
So far he's having a blast with it. We keep asking him how long it'll be before he figures out a way to work "Wipeout" into the set list.
