I thought it's a trial? 10 days then level caps at 20? To go on then you have to pay by upgrading to full? Is this how i understand it?
What's the point of d/l if you can't play the trial ie for free to see if you like it?
In relation to charging by Blizzard, do they auto bill you a mth in advance?
Is it easy to cancel charges to account if one decides not to continue?

yes you can cancel your acc anytime. The 10day trial is free they dont charge you unless you want to carry on after the trial. If you have a friend playing theres a better option where he applies for a 'Recruit a friend', then he invites you and you both play with triple xp right till 80, your lvl up quicker.

So obviously for someone new it's best to start in a pve, that makes sense...
i'm assuming that will become clear to me at the start? Where to chose or rather how to chose in what setting i want to play? Ie pvp or pve?
Does one just switch over to pvp and back to pve? How does that work?

You can create up to 25 characters per account and have them spread out on any realm. Once you make a character on a realm that character stays on that realm unless you really need to change from pve to pvp or vice versa you pay $25USD for a transfer if i remember right. The only time a pve player can pvp is friendly dualing or if they enter battlegrounds or Arena ingame. Otherwise you cannot get attack by the other side while questing. Its all pretty straight forward when you go to choose eg: choose a realm, next to it will tell you whether its PVP, PVE, NORMAL or RPPVP, once in the realm menu etc you create the character you want and start playing.

Yea, that makes sense, moreso from an actual player like yourself, rather than reading the forums which makes it sound worse than what it is.
Another thing, once you cap your level, is that the time you look at expansions?
Or before?
Also, i'm d/l the trial, once i upgrade to the full version, does this mean i cap at lvl 60 or lvl 80?
And in expansions? You stay at the cap? Ie can't go over 80? Or you level higher?

First World of Warcraft - cap is 60. Thats the one your most likely be downloading unless they have the full package availabe for dl. Then you will need to get the 'Burning Crusade' expansion to go from 60 - 70. (you can go to Burning Crusade at lvl 58) Once you hit 70 your need 'Wrath of the Lich King' to go from 70 to 80. The last expansion Cataclysm when its out will start from 80 - 85.
Once you cap to 80 you can't go any higher until the expansion comes out. But the game doesn't stop there its just started really. eg in short - grinding for epics gear, or flying mounts, become a farmer and trade at the auction house making lots of gold, try new professions, Arena gear, Achievements, Titles and so on...
