for me the main thing is the AI/Ships.

everytime i try to play SH5 i usually end up closing it because of it.

when leaving port, seeing other ships just ramming into the bank or the docks etc just are not fun. When going down the canal and the Ai/Ships don't know how to navigate the canal and instead they ram into the bank so much they end up "cliping" into the land gets a little annoying.

I even had an enemy merchant vessels spawn into the canal, ram the bank trying to get away etc.. etc.. ( i didn't feel bad enough for them not to sink them though lol)

then i had the "shadow" ai issue happen, where i had an enemy warship contact that never got any closer to me and was perfectly mirroring my movements, very irritating.

i am a very forgiving gamer when it comes to bugs, i own over 300+ original PC games - i love to collect them. and in my time gaming there are only a couple of games i actually was appaulled at their state at release and would be considering broken.

The big one was WWIIOnline, i was there on launch day and anyone else who was there knows the pain that was WWIIOnline, the code to fire the rifle wasn't even on the pressed CD. at game launch there was a 100mb patch that added some functionality, it was so bad they didn't even charge the monthly fee for 6 or 7 months.. really bad. (notice how its called Battleground Europe now, and not its original WWIIOnline)

and although SH5 isn't nearly that bad (not by a long shot), the AI bugs and atmosphere that the AI bugs bring really makes it tough to play for me.

so to answer your question,

WWIIOnline, at release was broken/unplayable

SH5 has some glaring bugs, but is playable and is even fun. But some of the bugs just make it frustrating to play sometimes
