Bingo. I'm sure many see this practice as being similar to signing a petition. Yes, it's been said once (or a thousand times) but we all want to feel like our vote has been counted.

Personally, if I were a game developer or publisher, I would pay more attention to a problem or opinion voiced multiple times, in many places, by many different people, than I would if it were posted just once. I wouldn't (want to?) see the multitudes behind that one post all nodding their heads in agreement, and I could easily convince myself that the absence of multiple posts indicates the opinion is only that of one or a few disgruntled whiners.
