You're close transferring to Lorient, it starts operating around September-1940.
Here's a list of flotillas and start/end dates. I found it posted here last May (posted by 'HammFist'?, but can't find it anymore). I think flotilla data was collected from SH3 v1.3, but seems accurate for v1.4
I keep a print-out of this list, it's very handy when playing SH3.

notes:
VIIC/41 becomes available around October-1943.
VIIC/42 becomes available around Janurary-1944.
XXI around October-1944 (??), assuming you're not using the Real Uboat mod.

After searching this site, the manual, the readme, subsim, and the official site, I was unable to
find a list of Bases, Subtypes, and Flotillas anywhere. So I went into the "Flotilla.cfg" file and compiled the following cheat sheet.
If you find any errors, please point them out and I'll edit the post I made in the "Essentials" thread.

urseus, After transfer to a new flotilla, I think you must serve at least 2 patrols (or 60 days?), before being able to transfer to another flotilla.
