Long story short, I took a reading off my obs. periscope of approximately 2.5 degrees, but I then realized that the scale did not change when I zoomed out. The reading was then less than 1 degree. (The markings on the side are in degrees right?).
I then did the same with the attack periscope, for a far different reading of 3.5 degrees, and less than 1.
So, what's the deal? How do I use my zoomed in reading for manual range finding?

the scales are 'tied' at your first zoom .i don't remember the zooms that gwx is using but remember that the scale is tied to the smaller one .so ,when you zoom, it is psysical the image to get larger and covering more degrees . if your low power is x1 and high power is x10 then if target is covering one degree at low power will cover ten degrees at high power . the obs peri,i think in gwx uses different zoom levels from attack peri so you have to look at zooms that obs is using to understand the difference at degrees
