I'll try reducing the particle density lower and see what happens. I've noticed most of my crashes are after saving with lots of search lights in the saved game. Noticed when raiding harbors and the lights come on, the game slows way down almost freezing until I get out of deck or periscope view. If I save while in view of lights, I always get a crash. I'll see if reducing particle density to below 10% helps.
