Yes TvM - can't go looking for any statistics to back up your claim can you?
In other words - you want to be able to throw hateful, random, "racist" crap out there about a group ya don't like - but don't want to have to back it up......
A quick search of data would "learn" you quite a bit. Look at what is termed "Arrest releated death" for 2003 thru 2006 -
http://bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov/content/dcr...dcst06let7.cfm
The leading group with the most deaths? West - with California being the leader. Actually California led ALL the states in the number of arrestees who died in arrest related ways.... In fact - for this time frame - California actually had only 7 deaths less than the combined 12 states of the Midwest! If your stereotypical "them there rednecks" view was accurate - these numbers for the South would be expected to be substantially highter - but they are not. After all - the south is supposedly where a black or hispanic must fear all the white racists according to people like you. In the time span that California killed or was involved in the death of 465 arrestees - your target in the OP - Louisiana - had all of 23....(While Louisiana didn't report in 2003 - its pretty doubtful they killed 400+ people that year, then only popped one the next.)
If you look at the majority of "cop watch" websites that look to track and monitor the behavior of police - notice that they all tend to gravitate to one geographical region - the west. Where there is a problem - people make a ruckus..... Its also interesting to note that the prevalence of brutality appears to be located in areas of the highest concentration of people - aka - cities. Which is why the midwest has such a lower occurance - fewer cities with people packed like sardines.... The majority of highly populated cities - are in the west....
*Ever notice how that old show "Cops" is always in some city - never in a rural area?*
If you want to talk stereotypes - in the south we have police officers like Barney Fife and Andy Taylor - ya'll have the cops that beat up Rodney King and guys like Mark Furhman.... The South wins that game every time....
Stereotypes are exactly that - but seeing how you would rather defend your idiocy with "well don't ask me to back it up - I really don't have any statistics but this one post just reinforced all the stuff I think to be true so its all I need!" - I will keep this thread handy next time you want to complain about being stereotyped...
Maybe I won't have to use it - you might actually grow up a little.... But I ain't holding my breath.
