That sums it up pretty well, as some other posters have said SH5 is a diamond in the rough. It shows a lot of promise and interesting improvements in some areas, as well as some unfinished aspects and annoying bugs in others.
IF Ubisoft supports it through patches and an add-on and
IF modders rally around it as they did SH3 and SH4, then it may become worthy to take its place in the Silent Hunter pantheon....
(...in the meantime, it is still kick ass fun.
