There are a few issues with it( I can't walk inside the sub without my fans racing into overdrive, there are ghosts stuck to the side of my boat, etc ) but overall I still think it's playable. I have had only one hiccup with the DRM( I did not buy this game, it was a gift, I was holding out for a DRM free version ) and it only lasted for a few seconds. The graphics really make a huge difference, IMHO, and make the bugs tolerable.
I can understand the opposing point of view that the game should of have been perfect out of the box, but the reality is, those days of gaming are gone. I say that gaming is now a business that only shoots for center of the road as far as player expectations go, and spend most of their resources on graphics. I would even go so far as to argue that the modding community had something to do with this. The main example that I can relate this argument to is the automobile aftermarket business. This industry brings in $257 billion yearly ( Estimated *1 ), and the logic behind that and other accessory businesses(computer,RC models, etc) is longer product viability, thus future sales on existing work.
It sucks that so many loyal silent hunter fans feel let down by Ubisoft this go around, but I guarantee that in a years time, this game will become more and more appealing to a large majority of the silent hunter fanbase because of both Ubisofts participation, and the modding community.
