No Great Victories, No Great Escapes, just a little under 2000 tons, taken on August 13th just of the coast of The Nederlands.*
Prior to this the U552 had been in dry dock for what seemed like an eternity, but the crew seemed to really enjoy it, some of them far too much. I spent a good portion of my time solving little disputes and talking to the* Feldgendarmerie ( Shore Patrol), the crew calls them Kettenhunde, or "chain-dogs" because of the gorget they wear.
At least one good thing happened. my Watch Officer, Wolfgang Eisenhalts was able to go home in time to see his new* born son, and spend a few days with family before we started this last patrol.
