No I didn't get that from SH3
out of the box. Yes, it took many patches and mods to make it so. However, I don't think it was really all the unreasonable of me to expect that after 5 years, two and a half subsequent releases (SH4, SH4 Uboat add-on, SH5), and a large body of excellent work by fans/modders/amateurs to show them how it
should be done, they would have at least been able to
match the level of game play, detail and authenticity of the earlier game.
I will admit that, realistically, hoping for an
improvement upon earlier work might have been a little over the top.
That said, I do think that SH5 has a chance, eventually, to be every bit as good as SH3 w/ mods. Even before that happens, it will probably reach a point where I would consider it playable.
It just isn't there yet... IMHO.
