I have to vote with the insider crew on this one.
Dangerous in bad weather if submerged (my prefered method of attack). Typically I get to spot them in bad weather about 300m which is a bit tight on the arming but makes for exciting play.
Given a choice I like being amongst the ships they make alot of noise.
