My last two patrols have been 89% (External Camera and Stabilized Sights still on), so essentially 'realistic with cinema possibilities'

I've been trying to use the hydrophone hunting techniques I found from the SH3 forums. Also making heavy use of MoBo and gutted's new tools.

So far I've fared rather pathetically. My first contact was with a convoy, but there was a harbor defense escort circling nearby, so all my hydrophone contacts were totally screwy. Finally found them and blundered into sinking two.

Next was a single merchant, perfect intercept and tracking, got the course speed and range down perfectly. Sent two fishes to break it's back and the mag triggers didn't go off.

Today I had a perfect MoBo intercept, but for the life of my I couldn't get the range figured out at all. The standimeter is utterly worthless. Using the watch officer I managed to get a rough estimate, but because of perfect weather I was apparently seen from 10k away submerging, so just surfaced to smash his face in with my deck gun.

That was followed by two missed intercepts. So yeah, manual targeting has been really nothing but frustration for me so far. If I was able to judge range and speed easier, I think I'd love it, but so far I'm definitely going back to map contacts on next patrol.
