T1s still had many advantages over electric torpedos. They required less maintenance and had a higher top speed of 44 knots (although in practice submarines used the 40kt or 30kt setting). I've been using them since the start in 39' it's mid 40' now and ill probably keep using them since I find them so reliable. Most of my attacks are done between 18:00-06:00 so they can't see the wake made by the torpedo. Also I make a point of aiming ahead of bridge during daylight attacks, this way when they finaly see them and change speed you still ensure a hit.
