'Bubblemakers' are good in my books,but need to be fired at close range (300-500m) in daylight to lessen the chance of a ship spotting it and evading it.I never really liked the electrics because of their low speed and range.
Steam torps are ideal for me because I attack up close anyway...usually
A couple of E-torps can be useful in the stern tube/s for emergencies against pursuing destroyers etc.
