I don't have the game so I'm not sure if this is related to your problem. Some games I have installed didn't work right until I right clicked on the shortcut and then disabled things under the compatibility tab like
Disable desktop composition, Disable display scaling on high DPI settings, etc. Give those two a shot and see if it makes a difference for you. Good luck.
