Well hmmm, I have to reinterate on something. That is the pole on the bow. The Type VIIB did have such a thing on it's bow, and was called a "Jack Staff". Though I dont see this on the drawings of the VIIA which actually didn't have the "A" designation but was simply the Type VII.
At least according to a great book I have on the Type VII's called "Anatomy of the Ship, The Type VII Uboat" by David Westwood published by the Naval Institute Press.

Im going to do some more digging in this book but from what I see so far they modeled the boats in SH5 very accuately.
But as far as the towers go, it depends on what year they were built.The Type VIIC's in 1939 & 40 had essentially the same tower as the B did.
