I understand your concerns (as you know from simHQ forum).

I'm actually curious if they ever considered (or might consider) in the future to block similar systems from the competition. In theory it should be possible to install UPlay client in such a way that it takes up the same services as EAs Always Online client. So in theory UBI, EA, and whoever else uses an "always online" system might technically be able to block you from using the system of a competitior. While they might not be doing that openly, they could start by making "the other client" crash and have problems. I mean, these tools exsist today - copy protection that stops a game from running if you have Daemon tools or other "crackware" installed is common.

Because obviously their aim is a total strict tieing of THEIR customers to the company. Making sure that customer stays exclusive is a logical step in the future.
