Well this does look pretty wierd, you have an "Ace" rating, yet as far as I can see you haven't completed a single mission. In the first training mission "Invasion of Poland" the only incomplete objective is to dock at Kiel, so did you navigate to Kiel dock there?

Now, the only thing I can think of is that you have been just starting the patrols without actually selecting the missions first. Explain just what you are doing when communicating with the base commander, what options are you selecting when the dialog opens.
