Should your old rig no longer run the game, I think you're headed for more than just a cpu/graphics card upgrade.
If your comp is really 6-7 years old, your motherboard will most likely not support any current CPUs or Graphics Cards. That means you need to change that, and I'd wager that means your RAM has to go as well... can you see where this is going?
