Well, fighting them, of course, because aircraft carriers are for whimps.
It's one of the smaller scenarios from
War Plan Orange, which is pretty much a spinoff of the original
War in the Pacific based on a hypothetic war between Japan and the Allies during the 1920s after a failed Washington Naval Treaty, naturally entailing large-scale battleship engagements rather than WWII-style carrier battles.

Good question, I have 5 battleships and an aircraft carrier sitting around with all sorts of damage in port, but
Refit and
Repair haven't had any problems so far despite being in heavy action...
EDIT: Scratch that, both are out of commission, heavily damaged after a night battle with
Nagato and
Kaga.
